Sean “Diddy” Combs established the American fashion and lifestyle company Sean John.
Sean John is an American fashion and lifestyle brand founded by Sean “Diddy” Combs. It debuted with a men’s sportswear collection in the spring of 1999 and soon gained popularity in hip-hop culture. The company sells a variety of opulent yet streetwear-inspired clothing, accessories, and fragrances. Combs reclaimed complete ownership of the brand from the Global Brands Group in 2021 after a period of decline.


History and Evolution
The brand achieved significant sales and was recognized by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in 2004 for Men’s Wear Designer of the Year. However, sales declined, leading to a period where Combs sold a majority stake in 2016.
Early success came from popularizing velour tracksuits, jeans, graphic tees, and tailored suits. The brand also expanded into fragrances, launching the FiFi Award-winning cologne “Unforgivable” in 2006.
